This deep water rescue device can form an important part of your sea kayaking self-rescue toolkit.

The strap can be deployed around the cockpit combing or even more simply, gripped with your paddle/paddle float combo to assist with a paddle-float self-rescue. Then simply step up the ladder to re-enter the cockpit, using the float for stability.

This device is compact enough to be stowed back in your PFD pocket after use.
