The Brača IV Carbon 60 paddle is designed for paddlers who want a softer blade and shaft. The Brača IV 60 is a 60% carbon version of the world’s most popular ICF sprint design, Brača IV teardrop. With slightly more flex these paddles are designed for the requirements of paddlers looking to ease the stress on joints. A great option for sea kayakers covering distance or those with prior injuries. At a reduced price from the standard IV, the Carbon 60 is a great combination of Brača design and durability.
All Brača IV Carbon 60 paddles are available with either a fixed shaft or an adjustable shaft system (we stock 2 piece adjustable). This allows easy adjustment of overall paddle length (within 10cm range) and blade angle from 0° to 80° right or left. The system also allows you to disassemble the paddle into two parts for easy transportation. We would recommend paring this blade with the hurricane above to make the perfect combo for Bass Strait crossings.
Blade Size: Choose between the Max (765 cm sq) and Min (735 cm sq) sizes.
Carbon Content: Available as fully carbon (Carbon 100) and reduced carbon (Carbon 60). Reduced carbon content to keep it more economically priced and is a more flexible shaft (60% carbon in the shaft, 50% in the Blade). Fully carbon (Carbon 100) paddles are lighter and stiffer - the Braca IV is also available in an Extra Light construction for the athlete who prefers light and stiff characteristics.
The Stiffness / Flexibility of the shaft is measured as the amount of flex over a metre of shaft under a 10kg load.
This paddles in stock are Carbon 60.
Shaft type: The Adjustable shaft allows for adjustment of paddle angle and 10cm of adjustment in length. The ferrule is a plastic ferrule by Kajak Sport.
The shaft is a 10KAL shaft (60% carbon)so has more flex than the full carbon flatwater shafts and equal to a 19K medium in the full carbon saltwater shaft. For more flex you can request the 19K shaft (additional cost may apply).
Hand Locator: On RHS, with heat shrink.
