We recommend you always carry a safety knife when paddling - to cut away entanglements quickly (tow ropes, fishing lines, leashes).
Both rescue professionals and recreational boaters love the features of the NRS Pilot Knife. Not only does its unique design attract attention, the sheath provides convenient access and release of the knife when you need it most.

An unusual knife. Safe, in that the pointy end is deliberately blunt so you don't accidentally stab yourself or your gear, one side is deliberately blunt, not sure why that is so, but the other side of the blade is super sharp (part double ground edge plus serrated. The line cutter also super sharp. It has a bottle opener in the handle! and a glass breaking tip at the end of the handle in case you have glass on your vessel. I do like the grippy rubberised handle and the sheath - the knife can only be released from the sheath when two retainers, one on each side are depressed. The knife practically jumps into the palm of your hand. The sheath has a clip that can be attached to a belt or PFD tab, thats handy. Overall, a solid safety/emergency knife.
