This style of blade housing installs on kayaks with a flat area on the rear deck. A 1/2" (1.25cm) or larger hole has been drilled and a bayonet pin sleeve inserted.

    Excellent product but if your not aware this model doesn't flip up to the vertical position only to approximately 125 degrees it is the one stellar uses on SOME boats like mine
