Product Description

IPIK is the lightest paddle Gearlab Outdoors has ever designed at under 600 grams.
Our Tip ( TKS staff): As a lightweight paddle we recommend this is not your first Greenland paddle - you should have already been finessing your Greenland roll and have a light touch - this type of rolling is not a case of muscling up!

Thanks to the unique 3D wrapping construction offering the best strength-to-weight carbon fibre how to get hold of it for a paddle.Greenland paddle on the market.Weighing under 600g, constructed using 3D carbon technology. Gearlab’s first oval-shaped and shouldered loom, enhancing paddle control in lumpy conditions while providing an ergonomic fit.

Length: 219cm
Loom Length: 57cm
Blade Width: 8.8cm
Weight: 595 ± 5 g
Construction: Seamless Carbon Fibre
Material: 3D Carbon technology

  • 3D Carbon: IPIK boasts an all new 3D carbon construction that intertwines the full paddle with continuous strands of aero grade carbon fiber. This results in superior strength, weight reduction, and a distinctive visual pyramid pattern.
  • Soft Shouldered: The gently sloped transition between the loom and blade draws on a classic Inuit design to ensure quick hand-positioning, increased leverage, and intuitive paddle control.
  • Oval Loom: The IPIK sports Gearlab’s first oval-shaped loom, enhancing paddle control and providing an ergonomic fit.
  • Sharp & Protected blade: The 1.1mm sharp blade slices the water efficiently, while Gearlab’s patented third-generation replaceable ProTek tips protect IPIK from damage.
  • Diamond Joint: The innovative metal-free carbon spring joint design snaps securely together to ensure a flush, firm connection between the blades. The result is a paddle offering two-piece convenience and a streamlined, one-piece paddling experience.
  • Titanium Hardware: Aerospace grade Titanium screws are used in all Gearlab paddles, ensuring that even the smallest element of a Gearlab paddle remains strong and rustproof.
  • Two Piece: All Gearlab paddles feature a two-piece design that separates quickly for convenient transportation and storage on the kayak deck. The low-profile carbon fibre button release creates a flush joint and sleek paddle shaft.
  • Includes spare set of tips

Pick The Right Size:

Size is power. The longer the paddle is, the more power it produces. The shorter the paddle is, the less power it produces. The best of both words, the Regular Size will give you enough power, while relaxing enough for your long journeys.

At present the IPIK will be available only in 219cm length.

Add your wingspan and cubit(*the length of the arm from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger)measurements together. This is the ideal size of your paddle.

Paddlers should consider additional factors when choosing their paddle length, including the width of their boat, their stroke style, and water conditions. When in doubt, most paddlers are happier with a slightly shorter paddle because these paddles encourage torso rotation (utilizing abdominal muscles more than arm muscles), better blade placement, increased control, and less strain on shoulder joints.
Gearlab suggests the sizes in this chart for the Kalleq and Akiak models. Most paddlers find these lengths ideal, but personal preference may require a choice different from Gearlab’s recommendation.
  • A slightly shorter paddle is preferable for paddling in windy and rough water conditions because the slightly smaller blade provides less resistance out of the water and more control in the water.

  • A shorter paddle is optimum for a higher, more powerful stroke, while longer paddles benefit paddlers with a low, rapid stroke.

Gearlab's Accidental Crash replacement program

Gearlab understands open waters can be a challenging and unpredictable environment. This program is an additional coverage we offer to support kayakers when you experience a major structural damage on the paddle as a result of your paddling activity during rough conditions.

If you damage or crash your paddle in the waters during a paddling activity, Gearlab Outdoors offers an industry first, 3-Year Crash Replacement Program. This program allows you to replace your same paddle at a greatly reduced cost. The program aims to offer a peace of mind coverage to support the paddle owners when things don’t go your way out in open waters. It does NOT cover accidental or intentional damages to the paddle on land.

  1. Ipik paddle. Simply Awesome! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Mar 2023

I ve been using a Kalleq paddle for 12 months & decided to purchase an Ipik paddle. A beautifully crafted paddle , having an oval shape loom makes it so comfortable to hold and the small shoulders on the blades are great locators for your hands. In lumpy seas and using my sail this paddle is a standout ! Awesome! Cheers Ben
