Product Description

Kalleq is a paddle for you to explore the extraordinary. Designed for endurance and pure elegance. The name Kalleq tributes to lightning in Inuit.

New 2024 colour is Illusion Yellow (220cm & new length 215cm in stock)
The Matrix White is a black paddle with a pattern of small white dots around the smooth shoulder area.

The Kalleq offers kayakers the ultimate touring experience. It is the lightest and strongest paddle in Gearlab's line, thanks to its revolutionary engineering, brilliant design, premium materials, and seamless carbon fibre construction.

Meticulously engineered, the Kalleq edge measures 1.1 mm at its thinnest point.
The smoothness of this edge guarantees complete comfort while the paddle slices the water with unparalleled efficiency.

A 220mm blade is constructed with 700 grams of seamless carbon fibre to ensure the most comfortable, streamlined and durable paddling experience.

Gearlab’s signature ProTek tip design bolsters the ends of the paddle with an easily replaceable tip made from a durable polyamide material. This provides confidence in rocky or shallow waters, and the option to customise a paddle with coloured tips.
A spare set of tips is included with your new Kalleq.
Exclusive carbon fibre weave is reinforced with threads that make it virtually impossible to tear. Available only on the Kalleq, this Ripstop weaves adds a chic style to the paddle.

Gearlab's Accidental Crash replacement program

Gearlab understands open waters can be a challenging and unpredictable environment. This program is an additional coverage we offer to support kayakers when you experience a major structural damage on the paddle as a result of your paddling activity during rough conditions.

If you damage or crash your paddle in the waters during a paddling activity, Gearlab Outdoors offers an industry first, 3-Year Crash Replacement Program. This program allows you to replace your same paddle at a greatly reduced cost. The program aims to offer a peace of mind coverage to support the paddle owners when things don’t go your way out in open waters. It does NOT cover accidental or intentional damages to the paddle on land.

Pick the Right Size:

Size is power. The longer the paddle is, the more power it produces. The shorter the paddle is, the less power it produces. The best of both words, the Regular Size will give you enough power, while relaxing enough for your long journeys.

Add your wingspan and cubit(*the length of the arm from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger)measurements together. This is the ideal size of your paddle.

Paddlers should consider additional factors when choosing their paddle length, including the width of their boat, their stroke style, and water conditions. When in doubt, most paddlers are happier with a slightly shorter paddle because these paddles encourage torso rotation (utilizing abdominal muscles more than arm muscles), better blade placement, increased control, and less strain on shoulder joints.

Gearlab suggests the sizes in this chart for the Kalleq and Akiak models. Most paddlers find these lengths ideal, but personal preference may require a choice different from Gearlab’s recommendation.
  • A slightly shorter paddle is preferable for paddling in windy and rough water conditions because the slightly smaller blade provides less resistance out of the water and more control in the water.

  • A shorter paddle is optimum for a higher, more powerful stroke, while longer paddles benefit paddlers with a low, rapid stroke.

Lightweight high quality Greenland paddle. No wonder it is the best selling Greenland paddle. Great service from Kayak shop

  2. "A thing of rare beauty" 5 Star Review

It looks great, it feels great, it is beautifully made and it does what a greenland paddle is meant to do. What more is there to say!

  3. Great Paddle 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Apr 2022

Only used once since receiving last week.
Found the paddle was very easy to use.
Extremely light, my Werner paddle has been delegated to the rear deck.
The paddle was admired by my paddling mates when we went out last week for a short Bass Strait trip.

  4. Quality paddle 5 Star Review

A really nice example of a CF greenland paddle.
I'm over 185cm and my kayak is just under 56cm beam. I ordered a 230cm and it fits my preferences perfectly. (I use 220cm euro paddles) Could've gone a 220cm but I also have a slighty wider kayak I use occasionally.
Extremely well made. Two haves lock together well with zero play and the weight is excellent.
It's a quiet paddle entering the water and really enjoyable to use.

Comes with a spare pair of tips & a single spare grub screw, plus a small block of wax (for the joint)

If you're after a CF greenland paddle, really worth considering.

Parcel from Kayak Shop was well packed as usual. Shipped quickly.
