This foot brace and rudder control assembly includes ergonomically designed, two-part foot pedals that offer significant advantages over anything else on the market.
Unlike other systems, your feet don't slide back and forth to steer. The lower half of the pedals is locked in position so you remain in a solid brace at all the times.
Steering is accomplished by minute pressure from your toes to the top half of the pedals. Even while seated, pedal position is easily adjusted for different users/ Pedals cannot be accidentally dislodged and the track design prevent sand build-up.
The Performance series feature an aluminium rail with the pedals in a hanging position that prevents them from getting jammed with sand or debris. This version also has the cable adjustment bolt at the aft end of the rail with allows for adjustments to the toe pilot angle whilst sitting in the kayak.
Includes:
2x Toe Pilot Foot Control Foot braces (Left & Right)
4x Mounting bolts
2x Barrel Locator Adjustors fitted (for use with spectra cord instead of stainless steel cable - spectra sold separately)
Fitting tip:
The Vertical Adjustment Plate is easy way to lower the height of the Foot Controls which typically need to sit a bit lower than typical foot braces.
It also allows for set up with a spacer behind the top of the plate to give the pedals a more comfortable angle.
[Note that the Performance Foot braces cannot be used with stud mount kits as the bar blocks access to the screws - for stud mounting the Transitional series of foot braces must be used]
Additional Info:
BLA is made up of two parts, cable tension adjustment knob (used on the end rail of the foot controls) and the barrel. The foot controls can be
built with this part already connected (this will be stocked at a future time) to the control cable to allow for easy connection to small diameter rope or cord, such as Spectra or Dyneema
lines. Smart Track swage a stop onto the control cable to secure the adjustment knob.
The barrel is designed to fit varying diameters of rope or cord. The small end hole ID is 2.5mm. To fit larger diameters simply bore a sightly larger
hole. This can easily be done with drill bits and an electric or hand drill.
